Cohen Stadium GMM
CHNA held a General Membership Meeting on October 17, 2018 at which a City representative gave a detailed and lengthy briefing on the forthcoming Cohen Entertainment District. It specifically addressed the design standards developed from the Master Plan which incorporate aesthetics and compatibility in all aspects including architecture and construction.
PRIDE DAY 2018
On Saturday morning, October 6, 2018, the Castner Heights Neighborhood Association participated in the 2018 PRIDE DAY clean-up sponsored by the City’s Environmental Services Department to show pride in our neighborhood and community. We cleaned Todd Ware Park as part of our written agreement as a Park Partner as well as some of Stahala Drive to prepare it for the northeast Veterans’ Day Parade scheduled for Sunday, November 11, 2018. Hearty thanks to the volunteers who helped out.
CHNA MAP
CHNA held a Members’ Appreciation Picnic (MAP) consisting of fried chicken and assorted side dishes at Todd Ware Park on September 22, 2018. Guests of members were also invited and all were able to join or renew their memberships.
Unscheduled GMM
CHNA held an unscheduled General Membership Meeting on June 27, 2018 to learn the intentions for the 9.2 acres of land at the 9100 block of Gateway Blvd North (old National Guard maneuver area). The original concept to build a general warehouse and food distribution center was revised to smaller commercial shops accessed from Gateway North. Proposed map is in with photos.
