CASTNER RANGE CELEBRATION

Frontera land Alliance was given a gift of money for a function to say “thank you” to all the people and organizations who worked so hard in the past to conserve Castner Range.  Subsequently, the Frontera Board with Executive Director Janaé Reneaud Field decided to partner with long-time supporter Castner Heights Neighborhood Association to celebrate Saturday evening, May 4th, 2019, at the Kaboom Party Hall on Hondo Pass.  Conservation Lands Foundation and Franklin Mountains Wilderness Coalition were also present.

UTEP’s PROJECT MOVE 2019

A hearty thank you to all 26 volunteers for your most considerable contributions to recent Saturday’s Project MOVE 2019 at Todd Ware Park.  In agreeable weather this year, 16 Theta Chi Fraternity UTEP students (including 4 Alumni), 9 Castner Heights Neighborhood Association neighbors, and 1 UTEP Staffer picked up 4 full pick-up truck loads of trash and debris at Todd Ware Park and vicinity, and 9 flood-control spillways, including innumerable filled trash bags, 2 broken grocery carts, tree limbs, old sand bags, palm tree fronds, and miscellaneous scrap lumber.  All loads were delivered to the City Trash Collection Site on Stahala Drive followed by a pizza and soda lunch for everyone.  Some photos are to your right.  The 4 hour effort was another resounding success!
